Clinical Supervision
Before scheduling a session, please drop me an email. We’ll schedule a time to discuss the clients you support and determine if my supervision style is the right fit for you.
Clinical supervision is a cornerstone of ethical and effective practice. It provides a structured space for practitioners to reflect on their work and ensure they are delivering the best possible care to clients. It’s also your space to grow, recharge, and keep your insight alive at every stage of your career. As a Senior Member of the ACCPH, I am pleased to offer clinical supervision for therapists (counsellors and psychotherapists) and coaches (where professional supervision is the preferred term). I try to avoid the ‘superior talking to inferior’ dynamic that often happens in supervision and prefer to take the communal approach of a practitioner helping another practitioner. Supervision with me is about creating a supportive, reflective space where you can:
Explore your client work and strengthen your skills.
Expand your therapeutic or coaching toolkit.
Talk through ethical dilemmas and professional boundaries.
Look at fresh approaches when they’re helpful.
Check in on your own well-being and resilience as a practitioner.
For students, trainees, placement therapists and coaches.
I’ll offer guidance and reassurance as you start building your client work. Supervision with me is a safe space to try out ideas and integrate what you’re learning in training.
For newly qualified practitioners
I’m here to help you build confidence, grow your toolkit, and navigate the early challenges that shape your professional identity—for example, setting boundaries and managing your workload.
For experienced practitioners
Supervision with me is about sustaining long-term growth and ethical practice. Our sessions are a space to refresh your approach, explore complex cases, and keep a sense of perspective in your work.
FAQs
Can you sign off my supervision hours?
Absolutely. I’m happy to sign off supervision hours for both trainees and qualified practitioners, in accordance with ACCPH standards and the requirements of most other professional bodies. If you’re in training, bring any necessary forms or templates for your course.
Are there any clients you don’t supervise?
I only supervise practitioners working with client groups that match my areas of expertise. Before we get started, we’ll have a chat to talk about your client group and make sure we’re a good fit.
How do i start supervision with you?
We’ll begin with a short introductory conversation to discuss your client's work and needs. If it’s a good fit, we’ll arrange your first session.
Do you offer supervision to practitioners based outside the UK?
I only provide supervision to practitioners who are working under UK regulations. My intention with clinical and professional supervision at Lore and Lobe is to market these services specifically to UK practitioners. When you begin supervision, you will be asked to sign a contract that outlines the framework for our work together. This contract confirms that UK standards and law govern our sessions. By signing, you agree that your residence is recorded as being in the UK for this agreement, and that any legal matters will be handled through the courts of England and Wales. This clause is to ensure that, should indemnity insurance ever be required, both you and I are fully protected. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
Do you keep a log of my hours?
You’re in charge of your own supervision log. I always recommend keeping track of dates, session lengths, and main themes explored throughout your career. I can provide a confirmation of clinical hours as needed. On my end, I keep a confidential, anonymised record of sessions I’ve supervised.
How often should i seek supervision?
Trainees and newly qualified practitioners typically meet fortnightly, while experienced practitioners often meet monthly. Your accrediting body or programme may have its own requirements. We’ll agree on what fits your needs.
Do you offer group supervision?
Yes, I offer group supervision for up to three people.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments will incur a full charge.
Do you offer supervision in other languages?
Yes—I offer supervision in both English and French.
Do you receive supervision?
Of course! I also receive monthly supervision, both for my clinical work and the cases I supervise. Supervision is just as crucial for me as it is for you!
Why do i need to sign a supervision contract?
A supervision contract is a simple, written agreement that outlines how we will work together. All supervisors will make you sign one. It covers the practical and ethical framework of supervision ( like confidentiality, session times, fees, data protection, and the standards I follow as a UK-trained practitioner). Signing it provides us both with the protection of English and Welsh professional law.
